I passed three TakeProfitTrader Tests in July 2026 and currently trade three active PRO accounts with $100K combined account size. PTV may earn a commission through the tracked VIBES referral link, at no added cost to you. VIBES identifies PTV as the referrer; the separate public NOFEE40 promotion currently supplies the advertised discount. Use my current rules overview, the full TakeProfitTrader review, and the official help center to verify current terms before buying.
TakeProfitTrader restricts news trading on PRO and PRO+, not through a vague volatility clause but through named events and a one-minute exclusion window.
The dangerous detail is working orders. Flattening the open position is not enough if a stop, limit, or bracket order remains active.
I currently trade three PRO accounts, so I treat the group as one risk unit around releases and verify every follower is flat.
Which events are prohibited on all PRO and PRO+ accounts?
| Event | Products | Required status |
|---|---|---|
| FOMC statements or announcements | All products | Flat, no working orders |
| Non-Farm Payrolls | All products | Flat, no working orders |
| Consumer Price Index | All products | Flat, no working orders |
| Crude Oil Inventories | Crude Oil | Flat, no working orders |
| Bond auctions | 10-Year Note and 30-Year Bond | Flat, no working orders |
FOMC speakers and FOMC meeting minutes are allowed according to the current PRO rule article. The restriction names FOMC statements and announcements.
How does the one-minute window work?
The account must be flat one minute before the scheduled release, remain flat during it, and stay flat until one minute after. Do not use the boundary second as an entry target.
Clock drift, order acknowledgements, and follower-account latency can turn a technically timed exit into a violation. I build a larger operational buffer than the minimum.
Does the rule apply during the Test?
The current official Test rules do not impose the same named prohibited-news window. Test traders still carry normal slippage, limit-move, drawdown, and approved-hours risk.
If you copy a Test leader into PRO accounts, the PRO restrictions still control the followers. The more permissive leader does not override them.
What about working orders?
Every stop, target, limit, and bracket order must be gone during the prohibited window. An order that never fills is still a working order.
After flattening, check each account or copier follower. A rejected cancel or disconnected follower is exactly the kind of small operational failure that can become an account-level problem.
How should a multi-account trader prepare?
- Use the TakeProfitTrader calendar as the controlling event list.
- Stop opening new risk well before the official one-minute window.
- Flatten every account and cancel every working order.
- Confirm follower status independently instead of trusting only the leader.
- Re-enter after the full post-event minute has passed and liquidity has normalized.
The bottom line
TakeProfitTrader news trading is manageable because the restricted list is narrow, but the working-order rule makes sloppy execution expensive. On PRO and PRO+, flat means flat across the entire account stack.
What does flat mean in a real account stack?
Flat means zero open position and zero working order on every PRO and PRO+ account. A filled exit on the leader is not proof that each follower is clear. Check the account-level position and order grids.
Bracket orders are the common miss. A target may disappear when its linked stop fills on one platform but remain active on a disconnected follower. A dormant-looking order can still violate the published rule during the window.
With three current PRO accounts, I use a pre-event checklist instead of memory. The extra minute spent verifying is cheaper than arguing about an order log after the event.
How should you handle release timing?
Scheduled times can move, and holiday weeks can change calendars. Use the TakeProfitTrader dashboard calendar on the trading day rather than relying on a screenshot from the start of the month.
The official minimum window is narrow, but liquidity can remain unstable after it ends. Permission to re-enter is not a claim that the spread, fill quality, or intraday trailing drawdown is safe.
A fast spike is especially dangerous on PRO because an unrealized peak can ratchet the drawdown before price reverses. The news rule and the drawdown mechanic compound each other.
What happens if an event is not on the prohibited list?
The named list is not a general ban on all high-impact news. Events outside it can be traded if no other product, session, or exchange rule blocks the trade.
That does not remove the Sustainable Trading Policy. Repeated maximum-size bets into volatile releases can still look like the higher-risk behavior TakeProfitTrader says it reviews.
I separate permission from suitability. A legal trade can still be a poor fit for an account with little room left above the intraday floor.
