What I like / could be better

What I like

  • One-step Test with five account sizes and no fixed completion deadline while the subscription remains active
  • No published daily loss limit on standard Test, PRO, or PRO+
  • PRO withdrawals have no minimum-day waiting gate after the required buffer is built
  • Active Tradovate PRO account-to-wallet transfers are now automated
  • Approved copy trading across accounts owned and controlled by the same trader
  • Broad CQG and Rithmic platform coverage
  • Invitation path to live PRO+ with 90/10 split and EOD drawdown

What could be better

  • Standard PRO uses intraday trailing drawdown based on unrealized peaks, which can reduce usable risk before profit is closed
  • PRO resets are expensive at $449 to $1,499 and limited to three per account
  • PRO+ promotion is discretionary with no published threshold or guaranteed timeline
  • PRO and PRO+ restrict positions and working orders around specified news events
  • Sustainable Trading Policy reviews broader behavior such as repeated maximum sizing, account churning, and sim-fill exploitation

The bottom line

TakeProfitTrader is a futures prop firm built around a simulated Test, a simulated PRO account with withdrawals, and an invitation-only live PRO+ stage. The model has stayed stable. The important 2026 changes sit around it: tiered Test reset prices, automated Tradovate PRO transfers to the wallet, approved self-owned-account copying, the Sustainable Trading Policy, and PRO+ Development.

I keep coming back to the firm. In July 2026 I passed three more Tests, and I now trade three active PRO accounts with $100K combined account size. The Test passes were not the hard part. The hard part is still adapting from Test EOD drawdown to PRO intraday trailing drawdown.

That PRO mechanic follows realized and unrealized peak equity until the floor reaches the starting balance. An open winner that gives profit back can leave you with less room even after a green close. If you understand that and impose your own daily stop, the payout structure is competitive.

PTV may earn a commission when a purchase is attributed through the VIBES referral link. The relationship does not change the rating or the fact that these are accounts I bought and trade myself.

What is my current TakeProfitTrader experience?

I have traded TakeProfitTrader repeatedly over several years. In July 2026 I passed three more Tests, activated the resulting PRO accounts, and now trade three active PRO accounts with $100K combined account size.

The reason I keep the firm in rotation is the combination of a clear one-step Test and a withdrawal model that does not add a funded consistency gate. The reason I do not call it easy is the PRO intraday trailing drawdown.

On Test, intraday peaks do not move the EOD floor. On PRO, they do. I therefore size from remaining drawdown, not the nominal account balance, and I treat unrealized profit as already relevant to the risk floor.

Running three accounts adds operational risk. I check each account for remaining room, positions, and working orders before news windows. One follower with a stale order can turn an otherwise compliant group into a breach.

I have prior withdrawal experience with TakeProfitTrader, but this August update does not publish a payout amount, current profit, or a processing promise. The official payout workflow now depends on account type and feed.

Which platforms can you use?

TakeProfitTrader supports more than four front ends. Platform availability depends on the selected data feed and may require a separate license.

FeedCurrent front ends
CQGTradingView, NinjaTrader, Tradovate
RithmicBookmap, MultiCharts, MotiveWave, Trade Navigator, R|Trader, VolFix, ATAS, Investor R/T, Quantower, Finamark, Jigsaw Trader

The feed choice also affects current payout operations. Active Tradovate PRO account-to-wallet transfers are automated, while Rithmic PRO requests remain in the manual path. Execution quality and tool compatibility should still drive the platform decision.

How would I trade TakeProfitTrader?

I would plan the Test around the 50% consistency rule from day one. The best day must remain below half of total net profit, so a large early win raises the total needed to pass.

On PRO I would cut size relative to Test. The intraday trail reacts to open equity peaks, so holding for a perfect exit can reduce the remaining cushion even when the trade closes green.

With multiple PRO accounts, size from the account with the least remaining room. Use only an approved copier, keep one directional thesis across related products, and verify every follower is flat before restricted news.

I would also set a personal daily stop because the standard products do not publish a daily loss limit. The absence of a firm pause is flexibility, not permission to use the entire trailing drawdown in one session.

Is TakeProfitTrader legitimate?

TakeProfitTrader has operated since 2022 under founder James Sixsmith, maintains a detailed public help center, and shows a current Trustpilot score of 4.3 from 10,215 reviews as checked August 11, 2026. Trustpilot is a sentiment source, not proof that every account outcome will be positive.

The recent review pattern is broadly positive on payments and support. The useful negative themes are the PRO intraday drawdown, delays around some PRO+ Development activations, and confusion about account transitions. Those complaints align with real decision points in the official rules.

My own basis is stronger than a rating: I have traded TakeProfitTrader repeatedly and currently hold three active PRO accounts with $100K combined size. PTV may earn a commission through the VIBES referral link, but that relationship does not change the rating or verdict.

The operational payout path improved in July 2026. Active Tradovate PRO account-to-wallet transfers are automated; Rithmic PRO, PRO+, cancelled accounts, and some archived Tradovate accounts remain manual. Wallet-to-bank is separate.

TakeProfitTrader vs other futures prop firms

TakeProfitTrader's defining choice is the stage transition. The Test uses end-of-day trailing drawdown, while the simulated funded PRO account trails intraday from realized and unrealized peaks. A rival with EOD drawdown in both stages can be easier for strategies that let open profit retrace.

Topstep is the maturity and integrated-platform comparison. Tradeify and Lucid Trading provide broader account-model choice. MyFundedFutures is relevant when program-specific daily payout eligibility is a priority.

I keep TakeProfitTrader in my rotation because I have repeatedly passed Tests and currently trade three active PRO accounts with $100K combined size. That first-hand record carries more weight for me than a temporary price difference. It does not make PRO's intraday trail less demanding.

I would choose TPT when the one-step Test, supported platform and PRO withdrawal structure fit better than the alternative. I would choose an EOD-funded rival when the strategy regularly builds and gives back open profit or when a moving intraday floor is operationally distracting.

Compare the complete path: subscription, reset and activation costs; Test consistency; PRO drawdown; news and overnight restrictions; platform feed; payout rail; and the possibility of discretionary PRO+ progression. The cheapest Test is not automatically the cheapest sustainable account.
