What I like / could be better
What I like
- Crypto-native access through Bybit API, Tealstreet and CLEO
- Five-day minimum evaluation period and no mandatory stop-loss
- Time-based profit-split progression from 80% through 85% to 90%
What could be better
- Real exchange data does not make evaluation orders externally executed; the evaluation is contractually simulated
- Day-based 40% consistency rule constrains evaluation profit distribution
- My four-account test produced no payout before the funded account hit its loss limit
Is HyroTrader worth it?
HyroTrader is a crypto-only evaluation provider with One Step and Two Step paths. It is worth considering if you want crypto-native interfaces and can work inside a simulated account contract. It is not a shortcut to an exchange-funded account simply because the platform uses real market data.
I tested four HyroTrader accounts: three 10K Two Step challenges that I did not pass and one 25K One Step account that reached funded status before I hit the maximum loss limit. I received no payout. The platform experience was strong; the trading result was not.
The current rules use five minimum trading days, no mandatory stop-loss and a day-based evaluation consistency condition. The current environments are Bybit API, Tealstreet and CLEO. HyroTrader's August terms classify the evaluation and Funded Trader phases as simulated.
The Data Core owns the exact account and stage values. This review focuses on the practical choice between One Step and Two Step, how the platform layer differs from the capital model, and what my failed accounts taught me about crypto risk inside a fixed loss budget.
What happened in my four-account HyroTrader test
I bought three 10K Two Step challenges and failed all three before completing both phases. I later funded a 25K One Step account, reached the Funded Trader stage and then hit the maximum loss limit before a payout cleared.
That result is not a payout proof story. It is a useful product test because it covers both evaluation formats and shows where my own risk control failed. The platform did what I asked; I used too much of the available risk budget.
What I liked
The crypto-native environment felt closer to a normal digital-asset workflow than a CFD platform with a small crypto symbol list. Market data and order handling were easy to understand, and the interface was not the reason the accounts failed.
What went wrong
I treated the account's maximum loss as room to use instead of a boundary to stay away from. Crypto can compress several normal losing trades into a short period. Once size increases to recover a loss, the evaluation's distribution and risk rules become much harder to manage.
What I would do now
I would use smaller fixed risk, fewer correlated positions and a personal daily stop far inside the account limit. I would also judge the funded stage as simulated until the agreement for my specific account states otherwise. A future discretionary move to real capital is not part of my completed test.
Bybit API, Tealstreet or CLEO?
HyroTrader currently uses Bybit API, Tealstreet and CLEO. The right choice depends on where you can legally access the service, how you execute and whether automation is part of the setup.
Bybit API is the closest fit for traders already comfortable with a crypto exchange interface. Tealstreet is useful for a dedicated trading terminal and multi-exchange style workflow. CLEO provides another web-based environment. Availability and features can differ by jurisdiction and account.
Real data is not the same as external execution
This distinction has to stay explicit. A platform can display real exchange prices and connect through an API while the evaluation contract still classifies the trading result as simulated. HyroTrader's current terms control the evaluation-stage description.
Test before normal size
- Confirm symbol, contract or notional sizing.
- Test stop, reduce-only and liquidation-prevention controls.
- Check how fees enter the daily and maximum-loss calculations.
- Verify any bot or API workflow in writing.
- Confirm the account's legal availability in your jurisdiction.
One Step or Two Step: which HyroTrader account fits?
One Step removes a phase. Two Step gives the strategy another evaluation stage. Neither route fixes poor position sizing, and the faster path is not automatically the safer one.
One Step
One Step suits a trader who values speed and already has a stable distribution of daily results. My 25K account reached funded status, but the later loss-limit breach showed that passing quickly did not make my funded risk plan good enough.
Two Step
Two Step is the better fit when you prefer more time to validate the process across separate phases. I failed three of these accounts, so I would not describe the extra phase as easy. It exposes whether the strategy can repeat without increasing size to finish.
The consistency condition
The current evaluation rule is based on the contribution of a trading day, not a single trade. That distinction matters when several positions close during one strong session. Plan the distribution at the day level and confirm the current formula in the selected account.
Profit split progression
The published split can improve over time, but a future higher percentage should not drive the initial purchase. First decide whether the starting split, risk limits and simulated capital model are acceptable.
Is HyroTrader legitimate?
HyroTrader issued the accounts I purchased and the platform worked in my testing. I reached a funded account but did not receive a payout. That creates a narrower trust conclusion than a completed withdrawal would.
The most important disclosure is the difference between the market-data layer and the contract. HyroTrader can use real exchange data. Under the current terms, Challenge, Verification and Funded Trader trading are simulated. An older FAQ discusses possible future real-capital eligibility, but it does not guarantee that transition for every trader.
I would save the exact terms, account agreement, dashboard limits and platform assignment. If real-capital trading is the reason for buying, ask for a written account-specific answer before payment. Do not infer it from an exchange logo.
My four-account outcome is deliberately visible: three failed evaluations, one funded account lost before payout, zero withdrawals. A transparent negative result is more useful than filling the page with competitor review scores.
HyroTrader vs other crypto prop firms
HyroTrader's strength is its crypto-native environment. Its limitation is that the current agreement still defines the account stages as simulated. The right rival depends on which side matters more.
Breakout is the cleanest comparison for a focused crypto evaluation with a different static-drawdown structure and symbol-level leverage. FTMO is relevant when you want an older operator and crypto inside a broader CFD product. Tradeify's 247 line is another multi-asset direction, but my Tradeify experience is Futures-only and does not support a personal crypto verdict.
I would choose HyroTrader when I wanted the supported crypto interfaces and accepted the simulated capital model. I would choose Breakout when static drawdown and its proprietary environment fit better, or an established CFD firm when operator history mattered more than a crypto-native terminal.
Compare the exact evaluation, funded stage and platform. “Crypto prop firm” is too broad to tell you how the loss floor, consistency rule or capital mode behaves.
Frequently asked questions
Does HyroTrader require a stop-loss?
No. The current rule table says a stop is not mandatory in challenge or funded stages. A separate 3% realized-loss-per-trade rule still applies.
Which HyroTrader platforms are current?
Bybit API, Tealstreet using Bybit data and CLEO using Binance market data.
How does the HyroTrader profit split scale?
It starts at 80%, progresses through 85% to 90% on a time-based funded-account path; the official FAQ states the maximum after 16 months.
Are HyroTrader evaluation trades real market orders?
No. The current terms say evaluation trading is fully simulated. Real exchange data and API-connected interfaces describe the market-data layer, not external execution of evaluation orders.
What are the HyroTrader allocation caps?
The official scaling owner describes up to $400K in challenge allocation, $200K in funded allocation and a scaling path to $1M. Each number applies to a different population.
